For online sessions you will need your own mat, and potentially blocks and a bolster depending on your requirements. You can use your home sofa cushions, pillows and blankets in place of bolsters.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a therapeutic practice that involves applying pressure to specific points on the feet or hands and can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve circulation, and alleviate pain.

Research published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine found that reflexology can significantly reduce anxiety levels in patients undergoing surgery, promoting relaxation and comfort. Another study in Pain Research and Management indicated that reflexology may effectively reduce pain in individuals with chronic conditions, such as arthritis, by enhancing blood flow and promoting the release of endorphins.

Reflexology is a relaxing and a valuable complementary therapy, contributing to overall well-being.

Reiki

A systematic review published in the Journal of Evidence-Based Complementary & Alternative Medicine found that Reiki can significantly reduce pain and anxiety in patients with various health conditions, including cancer and chronic pain disorders. The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine reported that patients receiving Reiki experienced improved quality of life and reduced levels of stress and fatigue and a randomized controlled trial published in Nursing Research demonstrated that Reiki could improve relaxation and decrease anxiety levels in hospitalized patients, suggesting Reiki may serve as beneficial alongside conventional medical treatments.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Lymphatic drainage massage (LDM) is a specialised technique designed to stimulate the lymphatic system, promoting the removal of toxins and excess fluid from the body.

Lymphatic drainage massage can significantly reduce lymphedema, a condition characterized by swelling due to lymph fluid accumulation and the effectiveness of lymphatic drainage massage in reducing postoperative swelling and pain, particularly after cosmetic surgeries is frequently noted.

LDM can improve immune function by enhancing lymphatic circulation, which is crucial for the body’s defense mechanisms.
